Bright lights and the glitter of Hollywood. Glamorous parties and lavish homes. The red carpet. These scenes are what we associate with fame. In Diana Grazier’s new novel, The Price of Fame, however, we are presented with a different idea of what being famous is all about.

Actress Joy Bryant has been plagued with fame since the age of four, when she was cast as the child star of a television show. Like many child actors, Joy experiences weight struggles, demanding paparazzi, and basically a loss of her childhood. She has to grow up under the spotlight and deal with a distorted view of the world, never understanding what leading a “normal” life means.

Joy is followed by a stalker and her career is scrutinized by a cynical reporter. Finally, after having her life threatened, Joy leaves the public eye to begin a journey of self-discovery. She learns a lot along her journey, but realizes that the ultimate price of fame lies ahead in a devastating choice she must make.

With writing as her first love, author Diana Grazier has also enjoyed a career as a registered nurse. She holds an Associate of Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Arts. She graduated from the University of St. Francis in 1999 and is currently the Director of Nursing for one of Arizona’s county health departments.

The Price of Fame is available in softcover (ISBN 1-58939-462-3) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com. The book can also be ordered from most bookstores around the United States and the United Kingdom.
