America's security has again been broken. This time the nation's top Heartland Security agent is dispatched. Follow the investigation of security agent, Eric Blue, through Polar Cap Five, written by Charlie Mann.

The new cabinet level Homeland Security Department is in place and the assignments have been made to cover all bases. Suddenly, there is an unexplained security breach, and a major escape at the newest and most secure federal prison designed to keep terrorists away from the public. Now, due to a computer failure, no one knows how many have escaped or who they are.

California's governor had fought the prison's location from the start which resulted in a heated political concern. The president dispatches his 9/11 Commission's Report and sends Special White House national security agent, Blue, to investigate. Will Blue succeed in his task, or will an attractive FBI Officer-in-Charge get in his way?

Novelist, Patricia Cornwell exclaims, "Charlie Mann's labyrinthine plots are astonishing pieces of construction. It's like watching a chess match in which the pieces are captured and bleed into the board."

Mann has been a full-time freelance writer for more than twelve years and has six previous novels and one non-fiction book. This is his first techno thriller yet his former career was in the computer programming and networking business. He now writes from his small farm in the Fork Creek Valley below the Great Smoky Mountains.

Polar Cap Five is available in softcover (ISBN 1-58939-645-6) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com. The book can also be ordered from most bookstores around the United States and the United Kingdom.
