The story begins in a kingdom where peace lasted for decades, but trouble is brewing. A cult in the Kingdom of Tides rouses an ancient magic held confined in a crystal staff. With it, the cult controls their king and plots to use his army, the Steel Tide, to rid the world of all half-breeds. Logan began his career writing short stories for sci-fi and fantasy magazines. He sold his first story, The Silent Sands, at the age of eighteen.
