In gambling, some people will wager their lives away despite the odds. In Katie Cunningham’s novel Nicotine Dreams she tells of one woman’s struggle with the uncontrollable call of the casino and the sacrifices she will make to stay in the game.

Meet Kim, a fairly ordinary, middle-aged woman with a job, two adult children, and a difficult husband. For enjoyment, she plays the stock market, buys expensive handbags and sneaks an occasional cigarette. But when a casino opens within driving distance of her house, her life as she knows it will soon be over.

This is a story of addiction. This is a story of Kim’s descent into gambling hell, where the compulsion to play slots and poker machines is so great, she will risk it all in order to place just one more bet.

The author lives in Chaska, Minnesota with her two dogs, Sprout and Elmo. Her website is www.nicotinedreams.com.

Nicotine Dreams is available in softcover (ISBN 1-58939-780-0) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. The book can also be ordered from most bookstores around the United States and the United Kingdom.
