Encouraged by the words of Michael Carey, acclaimed poet and teacher, "I hope you continue putting your life and heart into your art and that you continue sharing it. It will make all the difference," Godfrey has gathered his poems together for the first time in this volume. Some of his individual works have appeared in various publications, including Alpha Beat Press, Our Sunday Visitor, and The Queen of All Hearts. Godfrey was born in Bath, New York, in 1940, and migrated to California in 1956. He worked two summers in Yosemite National Park, served in the Air Force prior to the Vietnam War and attended several California community colleges on the G.I. Bill. He was an amateur boxer in Los Angeles in the sixties, and drove cab for years off and on in Los Angeles. He lived and worked in community with Franciscans at San Damiano Retreat House, Mission San Luis Rey and Mission San Antionio. He currently resides in Grants, New Mexico. Stepping Stones is available in softcover (ISBN 1-58939-730-9) and hardcover (ISBN 0-97455-741-2) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. The book can also be ordered from most bookstores around the United States and the United Kingdom. |
