A controlling mom. A cigar-chomping, sexually-questionable boss. An urn full of cremated ashes. For Hymen “Hymie” Rosenblatt Hennessey, these all comprise his Wacky Track to Independence.

Wacky Track to Independence, the new novel by Bill Crocker, follows Hymie’s hilarious journey from introverted, confused teenager to confident adult. While trying to break free of his mother’s apron strings, Hymie is drawn into a comic misadventure that involves quirky characters, surprise twists and, finally, true independence.

Crocker draws on a varied background not normally fertile to humor. He received a Master’s degree in Microbiology, served 26 years on active and reserve duty with the US Navy, and retired from a 26-year civilian career in healthcare administration. Yet Crocker is addicted to humor, grammar and punctuation, and is committed to humorous embellishment, double-entendre, and alliteration. And, he becomes positively orgasmic over a well-placed comma.

Wacky Track to Independence is available in softcover (ISBN 978-1-58939-720-0) from Virtual-bookworm.com, Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com. The book can also be ordered from most bookstores around the United States and the United Kingdom. More information about the book can be found at www.wackytrack.com.
