Some games are played alone, but love is not one of them. In The Solitaire Prince, a new book by Tyan Wyss, a fairy godmother gives a princess her beauty, intelligence, wit—and a knack for the game of solitaire.

King Henry plots to find a groom for his daughter, to ensure a male wil be next in line for the throne. Taking the fairy godmother’s advice, the princess agrees to take a husband who can triumph in three games of solitaire. But when two princes accept this challenge, the princess loses her heart to the wrong man, and her cousin fals for the winner.

Wyss has been writing since the age of 14. She graduated from the University of California with a Master’s Degree in Literature and has now been teaching for 25 years. She lives with her husband and two children in Johannesburg, South Africa. This is her third children’s book published.
