Leaving his ex-fiancé across the ocean, Thorne attempts to escape his troubles. After a forced welcome by his colleagues and the realization his students aren’t taking him seriously, Thorne’s problems seem to continue. He begins to fall for one of his students, risking not only his academic neck but that of his brother-in-law. Cleary lives in a small New England town with her husband and a megalomaniac cat.
